WBRC Magic City Weekend
Magic City Weekend was a website focusing on lifestyle content from around the Birmingham area. As Executive Producer I was responsible for managing and producing all content posted to the site, as well as promoting the site on social media and television.
Using television to drive viewers online
Promoting Magic City Weekend with television ads on WBRC was a natural synergy and a great way to attract new visitors to the site. It was important to convey both the tone of Magic City Weekend and the type of content that could be found on the site in just 30 seconds.
Profiling delicious food
Birmingham is a foodie city so having a strong focus on food content just made sense. As Executive Producer I used my knowledge of video production to highlight unique dishes from around the Birmingham area and showcase recipes that viewers could follow at home.
Highlighting nightlife hotspots
Since Magic City Weekend’s brand was to be plugged in to the pulse of the city, a focus on nightlife was key. Cocktail recipe videos proved to be some of the most popular content on the site. As Executive Producer I was always on the lookout for engaging content that could also highlight a local business.
Interesting places and people
Magic City Weekend was more than just food and fun. Showing the people and places that make Birmingham unique was also a top priority. As a videographer, some of my favorite interviews came from these stories.
Telling local stories that matter to viewers
During my time as Executive Producer for WBRC Magic City Weekend, I was able to grow my marketing skillset with knowledge of social media strategies, metrics analysis and varied approaches to sponsored content. As a videographer, I honed my ability to shoot and edit lifestyle content.
